Actor, magician and musician Steve Valentine is best known to fans for his appearances in crime drama Crossing Jordan and sitcom I’m in the Band. The dynamic performer has racked up dozens of big and small screen credits across a two-and-a-half decade career, and can frequently be seen using his magic skills and musicianship in his acting roles. Besides television and film, he is also known for his voice work on a string of popular video games.
Scottish-born Valentine began his performing life as a magician, before playing small acting roles in a number of popular television shows including Melrose Place, Men Behaving Badly, Diagnosis: Murder, and Will & Grace. In 2000, he landed his first major recurring role when he was cast as Martine in The WB sitcom Nikki, before joining the main cast of the NBC crime drama series Crossing Jordan as forensic technician Nigel Townsend. After starring in Crossing Jordan for six seasons, Valentine appeared in further series including CSI, The Big Bang Theory, Anger Management and Hot in Cleveland, and played the main role of singer Derek Jupiter in Disney XD’s I’m in the Band.
On the big screen, Valentine’s many credits include Spider-Man 3, Teen Beach Movie, The Walk, Return to the Secret Garden, and Mars Attacks! Meanwhile, he has lent his voice to BioWare’s Dragon Age games series, as well as the games Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure.
