Most pageant winners spend their lives training for competition, but not Stormi Henley. After her mother saw an advertisement in the newspaper for Miss Tennessee, Henley participated on a whim. She went on to become Miss Teen USA 2009. Ever since, she’s enjoyed a successful modeling career.
Right after graduating high school, Henley was crowned Miss Teen USA at the first ever international web-cast of the pageant. The following year, she performed philanthropic duties in association with the Miss Universe organization and other crown winners. This platform helped her become a well-known model and social media influencer; on Instagram, she interacts with over 1.2 million followers, allowing her to become an ambassador for brands like Pildora Now, Vitamin A Swim, Cover FX, Alo, and more.
Additionally, Henley’s newfound fame opened the doors for her to explore her other passions. In 2011, during Scotty McCreery’s season of American Idol, her audition aired on FOX, and she received a golden ticket after receiving yesses from Randy Jackson and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. Upon completion of the show, Chris Brown saw potential in her and signed her to his record label, CBE, as a part of the music group, U.G.L.Y.
And Henley’s ventured into acting, as well. Not only has she starred in a handful of short films (such as Midland and Shiny), but she guest-starred on an episode of FOX’s hit comedy series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. On the big screen, she appeared in the science-fiction movie, 2307 Winter’s Dream, and she will be in the upcoming film, Hot Water. She’s even been the subject of a few music videos: so far, she’s worked in association with the artist, Saro, as well as BØRNS, starring in the “Electric Love” singer’s music video for his single, “I Don’t Want U Back.”
