Sunny Akhigbe was born in Nigeria, facing early life challenges including poverty and malnutrition. Motivated by his family to achieve his potential, he relocated to the United States. He pursued higher education, earning an Associate in Health Care Management from the University of Benin, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University, and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance and accounting from Purdue University. These academic achievements provided a foundation for his subsequent career in health and wellness, as well as his philanthropic endeavors.
Akhigbe established Sunny Biggy Fitness, LLC, a fitness program designed to help clients achieve various health goals, including weight loss, muscle building, and overall quality of life improvement. He is a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, holding IFBB Pro and NABBA Pro cards, which he earned in 2014. His fitness approach emphasizes personalized training and nutrition programs. In addition to his fitness business, he founded the “A Boy and His Dream Foundation,” a non-profit organization dedicated to providing mentorship, education, and resources to underserved youth. This foundation emerged from his personal experiences and his book, “A Boy and His Dream,” which chronicles his journey from hardship to success.
Through his work, Akhigbe inspires individuals and communities to embrace resilience and unlock their potential. He conducts speaking engagements and executive coaching, focusing on transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. His portfolio includes corporate wellness programs, individual and group fitness training, and leadership through his non-profit. He has been featured in media, including ABC 7 Chicago, and maintains a structured daily routine that balances his entrepreneurial ventures, family life, and philanthropic commitments, driven by a philosophy of humility and positive impact.
