United States Molly McGrath is an accomplished sportscaster and studio host known for her extensive work as a sideline reporter and host across college sports and the NFL for ESPN and Fox Sports.
Molly McGrath has a long-standing relationship with ESPN, serving as a college sports sideline reporter and studio host since 2016, and expanding into NFL coverage in 2026. Her roles include reporting for College Football Live, College Gameday, and the College Football Playoff National Championship, as well as NFL Network games and NFL Live.
McGrath worked for Fox Sports from 2013 to 2016, where she was an update anchor and quickly became a lead sideline reporter for Fox College Football and Fox College Basketball. She also covered games for the NFL on Fox and co-hosted America's Pregame.

Molly McGrath was born on June 6, 1989, in San Francisco, California. She attended Boston College, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Broadcast Journalism. During her time at Boston College, she was the cheerleading captain and initiated her media career by interning for NESN and WHDH-TV in Boston, alongside interviewing athletes and coaches for BCEagles.com. Post-graduation, McGrath joined ESPN as a production assistant, contributing to various shows by logging play-by-plays and producing highlights.
In 2011, McGrath transitioned to an on-air role as a web reporter and in-arena host for the Boston Celtics. She managed daily updates, interviews, and packages for the team’s website, and also hosted “Celtics Now” for Comcast SportsNet New England, where she served as a sideline reporter. Her work caught the attention of Fox Sports, leading to her recruitment in 2013 as an update anchor for Fox Sports 1. She rapidly advanced, co-hosting and anchoring “America’s Pregame” with Mike Hill in 2014, and becoming a lead sideline reporter for “Fox College Football” and “Fox College Basketball.” She also covered games for the “NFL on Fox” and hosted the revived “BattleBots” on ABC in 2015.
McGrath returned to ESPN in 2016 as a college sports sideline reporter and co-host of “College Football Live.” She has covered numerous high-profile college football events, including ESPN College Football Friday Primetime games with Mack Brown and Adam Amin (2016), and later with Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy (2021-present). Her basketball coverage includes ESPN’s College Basketball telecasts and weekly Big Ten Super Tuesday match-ups. Since 2021, she has also been a sideline reporter for the “College Football Playoff National Championship.” In 2024, McGrath made her NFL Draft debut. In 2026, she expanded her role within ESPN’s NFL coverage, serving as a sideline reporter for NFL Network’s game package and as a fill-in host for “NFL Live.” She received a Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Personality/Reporter in 2023 and, along with the SEC on ABC team, won the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Live Series in 2025. She and her husband, Max Dorsch, have two children and reside in the Greater Boston area.
