Sven Ruygrok

Sven Ruygrok is a versatile South African actor known for his roles in film and television, often sharing insights on life and passion through public speaking and coaching. After securing his breakthrough role as Robert ‘Rambo’ Black in the 2010 film ‘Spud’ alongside John Cleese, Sven Ruygrok established himself as a versatile actor, building on early experience in Kellogg’s commercials at age fifteen. He further honed his craft by earning a diploma in dramatic arts from Beaulieu College in 2009. His performance in ‘Spud’ marked a significant turning point, introducing him to global audiences in the critically acclaimed franchise.

Ruygrok cemented his role in the franchise, reprising his character as Robert ‘Rambo’ Black in the successful sequels ‘Spud 2: The Madness Continues’ (2013) and ‘Spud 3: Learning to Fly’ (2014). Expanding his filmography, he appeared in the 2013 feature ‘Zulu’ opposite Orlando Bloom, followed by roles in ‘Alien Outpost’ (2014), ‘A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits’ (2016), and ‘Bring It On: Worldwide Cheersmack’ (2017). On television, he held a recurring role as G-Dog in the series ‘Beaver Falls’ across two seasons from 2011 to 2012. Sven Ruygrok continued his prolific screen career with appearances in the horror-thriller ‘The Empty Man’ (2020) and the action reboot ‘Eraser: Reborn’ (2022).
