Talia Suskauer

Talia Suskauer was born on August 2, 1996, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to parents Michelle and Scott Suskauer. She began acting locally at the age of four, participating in community temple productions. Her early interest in theater was fostered by her parents, who frequently took her to Broadway shows and played cast albums. Suskauer pursued her passion for the performing arts by attending Bak Middle School of the Arts and Dreyfoos School of the Arts, where she majored in theater. She also performed at the StarStruck Theatre in Stuart, Florida, gaining valuable early stage experience. In 2015, during her freshman year at Penn State University, where she was enrolled in the musical theater BFA program, she was recognized as a YoungArts winner in Theatre Arts, highlighting her emerging talent. She successfully completed her BFA program at Penn State in 2018.

Suskauer’s professional career began to take shape shortly after her graduation. In 2018, she made her Off-Broadway debut as a female standby and assistant dance captain in “Be More Chill” at the Signature Theatre in New York City. The production later transferred to Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre in February 2019, where she continued her role until the show closed in August of that same year. A significant turning point in her career came in August 2019 when she auditioned for the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production of “Wicked.” She secured the role after just one week and began touring shortly after. She opened the show in Las Vegas in September 2019. The tour was temporarily halted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed in August 2021 in Dallas, making it the first Broadway touring performance to reopen after the shutdown. Suskauer delivered over 100 performances as Elphaba, with critics praising her vocal abilities and stage presence.

Beyond her iconic role in “Wicked,” Suskauer has performed in several regional theater productions. At the New London Barn Playhouse in New Hampshire, she was nominated for New Hampshire Theatre Awards for her roles as Princess Fiona in “Shrek the Musical,” Rosa Bud in “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” Lily Craven in “The Secret Garden,” and Jo March in “Little Women.” She also appeared in “Love In Hate Nation” as Ms. Asp and “Bad Jews” as Daphna at the Penn State Centre Stage. In January 2025, she is scheduled to begin her role as Lucille Frank in the US Tour of the Tony Award-winning revival of “Parade.” Her agency representation includes Harden Curtis Kirsten Riley talent agency and Moxie Artists management.
