Rising star TeaMarrr is making waves in the music world with her unique voice, eclectic creativity and addictive blend of hip-hop, pop and R&B. Her fan base is growing rapidly thanks to the popularity of tracks including anti-scrub anthem ‘One Job’ – used effectively by HBO’s Insecure for an opening scene – and 2019’s ‘Whorey Heart’. Her creative prowess also extends beyond her music, with the talented songstress also directing all her own videos and working as an active producer. Her sharp mic skills and equally sharp sense of humour and otherworldly fashion sense have helped TeaMarrr emerge from an underground phenomenon to new prominence, and in 2019 her music was streamed over 4 million times.
The Haitian-American musician was raised in Boston and first pursued her music career in 2015. Two years later she dropped Thanks for the Chapstick, her debut project. Her quirky plot twists and unique nasally tone soon grabbed the attention of fans and the music industry, and she got her big break in 2018 when her cut ‘One job’ racked up 1.2 million views and caught the eye of actress, director and producer Issa Rae. TeaMarrr became the flagship artist on Issa Rae’s Raedio in partnership with Atlantic Records and she landed herself an opening spot on Handpicked by the Star.
2019 saw the singer’s popularity soar even further with the release of the nostalgic, nineties-infused track ‘Kind of Love’. With her constantly evolving style and endless creativity nobody knows what TeaMarrr is going to do next, which helps make her one of the most exciting up-and-coming artists in the music industry today.
