With countless soap operas under her belt, Terri Garber can handle the pressure of performing on live television. Audiences remember her as Suzanne Collier in NBC’s daytime soap, Santa Barbara, as well as Iris Dumbrowski in the long-running CBS daytime program, As the World Turns, appearing in 120 episodes.
By the time Garber was sixteen, she was already acting in professional theater, appearing in countless productions at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami. After her onscreen debut in a commercial, Garber moved to NYC and booked her first soap opera, playing Allison Linden in NBC’s Texas. Shortly after, NBC offered her a main role in the sitcom, Mr. Smith, where she portrayed Dr. Judy Tyson, and then she graduated to the big screen, appearing in her first feature film: Toy Soldiers.
By 1985, Garber landed her breakout role in the ABC miniseries, North and South, which would go on to be one of the most successful TV miniseries of all time. She reprised her role, Ashton Main, in a few sequels of the show. Following North and South, she was voted “The Hottest New Vixen of the Year” by TV Guide, who once featured her on their cover.
After her performance in North and South, ABC offered her a main role in their primetime soap opera, Dynasty, where she portrayed Leslie Carrington. Now, with over 40 acting credits to date, she’s appeared in several other soaps, including General Hospital. Additionally, she’s guest-starred in popular programs like Law & Order, Matlock, and The Twilight Zone, to name a few. Most recently, she was featured in the web-series, Miss Behave, winning an Indie Soap Award for her performance.
Outside of acting, Garber is also an entrepreneur, co-founding her own natural soap company: Sister’s Alchemy.
