Canadian football wide receiver Tevaun Smith stood out during his stellar rookie campaign in the Canadian Football League in 2019. After playing college football at the University of Iowa, he impressed when he registered 632 yards and six touchdowns for the Edmonton Eskimos. In May 2022 Smith signed with CFL team Ottowa Redblacks and has previously been a member of the Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Smith attended Kent School in Connecticut where he started his playing career. He went on to play 47 games over four seasons for the Iowa Hawkeyes, picking the Hawkeyes over Connecticut and Temple before catching 102 passes for 1,500 yards with 7 touchdowns. The speedy wide receiver signed with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts in 2016 as an undrafted free agent before enjoying spells with the Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. After returning to Canada he signed a two year contract with the Edmonton Eskimos on February 11th 2019.
An accomplished track athlete, the 6ft 185 pound Smith is an accomplished track athlete who has run 100 meters in 11.05 seconds and 200 meters in 22.72, and has used his speed to his advantage throughout his playing career. After impressing during his rookie season in the Canadian Football League several years ago, he is now ready for the next chapter of his playing career with the Ottawa Redblacks.
