Tevon Coney

Tevon Coney was born on June 10, 1997, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He attended Palm Beach Gardens Community High School, where his exceptional talent as a linebacker was evident, recording 172 tackles and two interceptions in his junior year, and 136 tackles and two interceptions as a senior. His performance led him to commit to the University of Notre Dame. During his college career with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Coney made a significant impact. As a true freshman in 2015, he played in 12 games, contributing 13 tackles. His role expanded in 2016, starting nine of 12 games and accumulating 61 tackles. In 2017, his junior year, he started seven of 13 games, leading to 116 tackles and three sacks. Coney returned for his senior year in 2018 at Notre Dame, solidifying his collegiate career before entering the professional circuit.

Coney’s professional journey began when he signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. He was later waived on August 31, 2019, but re-signed to the practice squad on December 11, 2019. His contract with the practice squad concluded on January 6, 2020, though he signed a reserve/future contract with the Raiders on January 24, 2020, before being waived on May 5, 2020. He briefly re-signed with the Raiders on August 17, 2021, and was waived again on August 26, 2021. In 2022, Coney was selected in the 30th round of the USFL draft by the Philadelphia Stars, where he played for two seasons, from 2022 to 2023. He was placed on the team’s injured reserve list on April 25, 2023, and the Stars later folded following the merger of the XFL and USFL into the United Football League.

Beyond his athletic career, Tevon Coney has developed as an investment strategist, philanthropist, and healthcare consultant. He established the ‘Tough Choices Foundation,’ which partners with organizations like Community Partners of South Florida and United Way PBC to help young people achieve their goals and make informed choices. Coney also founded ‘The Business Baller’ brand, through which he shares business insights and serves as a mentor, often collaborating with other Notre Dame alumni. His commitment to giving back to the community is reflected in his efforts to create mentorship programs and an apparel line to support his foundation’s initiatives.
