The legendary Raghib “Rocket” Ismail is a former professional Football wide receiver and kick returner, a TV analyst and an inspirational keynote speaker. He recorded two 1,000-yard receiving seasons in the NFL, and was a CFL All-Star in 1991, Frank Gibson Award Winner, as well as the Most Valuable Player of the 79th Grey Cup. In 2004 College Football News named him on its list of the Top 100 Greatest College Football Players of All-Time. He was also selected by Sports Illustrated to their 85-man roster of its all-20th Century college football team.
Born in New Jersey and raised in Pennsylvania, Ismail came to prominence playing college football for the University of Notre Dame, where he was Consensus All-American 1990, and The Walter Camp Award winner in 1990. He began his professional career in Canada playing in the CFL from 1991–92 with the Toronto Argonauts, and then returned to the United States to play in the NFL and between 1993 and 2002 he turned out for the LA/Oakland Raiders, the Carolina Panthers, and the Dallas Cowboys. He retired from the game in 2003 and began a brief career in the media as an analyst with ESPN and as a co-host on FSN Southwest. In 2008 he coached the Bouncers in the extreme sports league Slam Ball.
