Tiana Benjamin is an English actress most well known for playing Chelsea Fox in BBC One’s long running soap opera EastEnders. She also appeared in the Harry Potter film franchise, playing Angelina Johnson in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.
Born in Enfield, North London, Benjamin began her career training at the prestigious Anna Scher Theatre in London. Her first television role came in The Last Detective in 2004 where she played the part of Carleen Romane. A year later she made her movie debut as Angelina Johnson in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, before joining the cast of EastEnders in 2006 where she portrayed the role of Chelsea Fox. She was due to reprise the role of Angelina Johnson in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix but was too busy filming EastEnders at the time, although she voiced the character for the video game adaptation. Benjamin spent nearly five years in EastEnders before announcing her decision to leave in April 2010.
Benjamin landed another film role shortly after leaving EastEnders in the 2012 British drama Fast Girls, playing Tara Andrews alongside Lily James and Lenora Critchlow. She appeared in numerous television programmes over the following years, including The Dumping Ground portraying Alison (Bailey Wharton’s mother), BBC crime drama The Interceptor (2015), Casualty and Holby City. In recent years Benjamin has returned to making movies, playing Jessica Morrison in drama The Creatress (2019) and Angel in 2019’s Absent.
