Tiana Benjamin

Tiana Opium Benjamin was born on October 5, 1984, in Enfield, London, England. She trained at the Anna Scher Theatre in London. Benjamin began her acting career with television appearances, including her first role in ‘The Last Detective’ in 2004 as Carleen Romane. This was followed by roles in ‘The Brief’ and ‘Rose and Maloney’ in the same year, and an episode of ‘The Bill’ as Tania Baptiste.

Demonstrating her early career progression, Benjamin broke into film in 2005 with a significant role as Angelina Johnson in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’. Her involvement with the Harry Potter series continued in 2007, where she voiced Angelina Johnson for the video game adaptation of ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’. Benjamin then joined the cast of the long-running BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’ in May 2006, portraying the character of Chelsea Fox. She became a series regular and remained with the show for nearly five years, departing in April 2010. During her time on ‘EastEnders’, she was nominated for ‘Sexiest Female’ at The British Soap Awards multiple times (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), and at the ‘Inside Soap’ Awards (2008).

Following her departure from ‘EastEnders’, Benjamin continued to pursue film and television projects. She starred in the British drama film ‘Fast Girls’ in 2012, playing Tara Andrews. Her television work includes appearances in ‘Bedlam’ (2012), ‘The Interceptor’ (2015) as Mandy, ‘Casualty’ (2015) as Cheryl Dunsby, ‘The Dumping Ground’ (2016) as Alison, and ‘Holby City’ (2017) as Alice. More recently, she played Jessica Morrison in the 2019 film ‘The Creatress’ and is set to appear as Melissa Jones in ‘Love in Verona’ and Angel in ‘Absent’. These roles highlight her consistent presence in both film and television over two decades.
