Tim Taranto

Tim Taranto is a professional Australian rules footballer currently playing for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was originally drafted by Greater Western Sydney (GWS) as the second overall pick in the 2016 AFL draft. Growing up in Parkdale, a suburb of Melbourne, Taranto showcased his footballing talent early on, playing junior football for the Mordialloc-Braeside Junior Football Club before progressing to TAC Cup football with the Sandringham Dragons.

Taranto made his AFL debut in the opening round of the 2017 season against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, where the Giants suffered a 56-point loss. However, his potential quickly became evident, and he was nominated for the 2017 AFL Rising Star after an impressive performance against Collingwood in round 8, where he collected 21 disposals, laid five tackles, and contributed to six score involvements in a thrilling three-point victory.
