Baseball star Todd Frazier – also known by his nickname “The Toddfather” – is third baseman for Major League Baseball (MLB) team Pittsburgh Pirates. Named the National League Outstanding Rookie in 2012 by the MLB Players Association, Frazier has also played for New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues with Cincinnati Reds.
Born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Frazier began his playing career aged 12 playing on the Toms River East American Little League All-Star team, and helped the side progress to the 1998 Little League World Series. After high school he attended Rutgers University and played for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, where he soon made a name for himself and won the 2007 Big East player of the year.
Frazier’s professional career kicked off at Cincinnati Reds in 2007, and five years later he was named the National League Outstanding Rookie thanks to a string of remarkable performances. In February 2015 the baseball ace signed a $12 million, two year contract with the Reds and hit his first career grand slam before being traded to Chicago White Sox where he enjoyed an impressive first season and later signed a one year, $12 million contract.
After stints at New York Yankees, New York Mets and Texas Rangers, Frazier signed for Major League Baseball side Pittsburgh Pirates in 2021.
