Todd Golden

Todd Golden has transitioned from a professional basketball player to a national championship-winning head coach, demonstrating a profound understanding of team building and strategic execution. After playing professionally for Maccabi Haifa in Israel’s top division from 2008 to 2010, Todd Golden became a national championship-winning head coach. His playing career also included co-captaining the USA Open Team to a gold medal at the 2009 Maccabiah Games, coached by Bruce Pearl. Prior to his collegiate success, Golden led Sunnyslope High School to a 4A state championship in 2002.

Post-playing, Golden spent two years in sales and marketing with IMG College and Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. Golden began his coaching career in 2012 as Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations under Kyle Smith at Columbia University, promoted to Assistant Coach by 2013. In 2014, he joined Bruce Pearl’s staff at Auburn University, starting as Director of Basketball Operations before promotion to Assistant Coach in 2015, specializing in guards and analytical data. Golden then reunited with Kyle Smith in 2016 as Associate Head Coach for the University of San Francisco Dons.

He was instrumental in recruiting and defensive coordination, contributing to consistent 20-win seasons and strong defensive rankings. His success led to his appointment as head coach for the Florida Gators men’s basketball team on March 18, 2022. The 2024-25 season was a historic turning point for Golden and the Florida Gators. Golden was named a Naismith Coach of the Year semifinalist in 2025 and secured a six-year, $40.5 million contract extension with the Florida Gators in 2025.
