Tolu Ogunmefun

Tolulope ‘Tboy’ Ogunmefun was born and raised in Hackney, East London. His early life included schooling in Nigeria and later at St Bonaventure’s school in Forest Gate, East London. Ogunmefun also had a keen interest in sports, particularly basketball, playing for his school and college teams and spending a brief period with a team in Houston, Texas. His return to London marked the beginning of his comedy career. In 2008, a spontaneous comical rant video, starting with the phrase ‘don’t jealous me,’ was uploaded to Facebook by a friend and subsequently went viral. This led to the creation of the ‘DontJealousMe’ comedy series, which evolved into a web series featuring skits, parodies, and songs.

The success of the ‘DontJealousMe’ series contributed to over 28 million online views and more than 90,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. This growing online presence facilitated tours across the US and UK, establishing him as a recognized African comedian. Beyond his online endeavors, Ogunmefun has transitioned into acting, securing roles in television and film. Notable roles include Nate in the TV series “Man Like Mobeen” (2017-2025), Mr. Lyon in the film “See How They Run” (2022), International Calls Supervisor in “Yardie” (2018), and Ash Matthews in the TV series “Sick Note” (2017).

Ogunmefun has consistently expanded his creative output. He co-hosts “The YT Podcast” with his wife, Yemi, exploring dynamic relationship content that resonates with their audience. His career progression highlights his ability to adapt from viral content creation to professional acting and podcasting. He is recognized for his contributions to both digital entertainment and traditional media, collaborating with various brands and maintaining an active social media presence on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
