Antonia “Toni” Garrn was born on July 7, 1992, in Hamburg, Germany. Her father worked for an oil company and her mother is a businesswoman. At two years old, her family moved to London, and then to Athens at age six, where she attended Campion School. By the age of ten, she returned to Hamburg. Garrn, a classical pianist since age six, was discovered at 13 during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Hamburg and subsequently signed with Women Management in New York.
Garrn’s modeling career began at 15 with an exclusive contract for Calvin Klein’s Spring/Summer 2008 runway show in New York. She subsequently featured in the brand’s ad campaign and walked exclusively for Calvin Klein the following season. In 2009, she walked over 60 shows for designers including Stella McCartney, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Dolce & Gabbana, and Michael Kors. She also appeared in numerous international editions of Vogue, Elle, Numéro, Glamour, Marie-Claire, Another Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and i-D. In early 2012, she re-entered models.com’s Top 50 Models Women list at 20th place, having previously peaked at 11th.
Beyond her modeling work, Garrn has engaged in humanitarian efforts. In 2014, she became an ambassador for Plan International’s “Because I Am a Girl” campaign. In February 2016, she established the Toni Garrn Foundation to support girls’ education in Africa, specifically in Burundi, Ghana, Rwanda, and Uganda. In 2014, she collaborated with German denim label Closed, with proceeds from her designs benefiting girls’ education in Africa. In 2017, she took on the role of Reeva Steenkamp in the Lifetime movie _Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer_ and has since appeared in films such as _Spider-Man: Far from Home_ (2019) and _Crisis_ (2021).
