As a successful actor, producer, and director, Tony Goldwyn has seen all sides of entertainment. His advocacy for the arts led him to serve on the board for the Motion Picture & Television Fund, and he held the previous presidency of the Creative Coalition.
Coming from a family of actors, film producers, and playwrights, Goldwyn was destined for a career in entertainment. After graduating with a fine arts degree and receiving additional training at HB Studio, he debuted in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. He’d go on to star in several films. His performance as the antagonist in Ghost earned him a nomination from the Saturn Awards, and his title role in Nixon received a nod from the Screen Actors Guild. Additionally, he starred in Disney’s Tarzan, lending his voice to the film and its subsequent videogames like Disney’s Tarzan Untamed and Kingdom Hearts. Other notable movies include The Last Samurai, the Divergent series, among others.
Goldwyn is also a familiar face on the stage and small-screen. Some of his theater credits include his Obie-winning performance in The Sum of Us, Off-Broadway productions of The Water’s Edge and Spike Heels across Kevin Bacon, his Broadway debut in Promises, Promises starring Kristin Chenoweth, and his Carnegie Hall performance of Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music.
