Trina Guytingco is a basketball ace and talented musician from the Philippines as well as a fast-rising star of social media. A talented guard for the Ateneo women’s basketball team, the gifted player hit the headlines after world-famous Filipino actor, dancer and model Joshua Garcia posted photographs of the pair enjoying a party together on a beach, and the couple became a hot topic on social media. The multi-talented athlete and musician has now amassed more than 229k followers on her Instagram account, where her posts sometimes talk about the difficulties of juggling the life of a student-athlete who also plays music on the side.

Born in Manila in the Philippines, Guytingco was raised in sunny California. She began playing basketball at any early age and her talent and passion for the sport led her back to the Philippines in 2015, where she joined the Ateneo de Manila University women’s basketball team and clinched the silver medal after reaching the UAAP finals.

Away from the sporting world, she has shared her musical talents online regularly playing guitar and piano on her posts, and has also released several independent singles which went down a storm with her followers. The rising star has also used her profile on social media to support several causes including the 2020 Black Lives Matter campaign, when she called on her fans to protest for change.
