Tyler Jordon Blackburn was born on October 12, 1986, in Burbank, California. He began his acting career in 2004, appearing in the Nickelodeon series ‘Unfabulous.’ The following year, he played a teacher in the short film ‘The Doers of Coming Deeds.’ In 2008, he had a cameo in the film ‘Next of Kin.’ He continued to build his acting portfolio with appearances in ‘Cold Case’ and the web series ‘Rockville CA’ in 2009. In 2010, Blackburn was featured in ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘Gigantic,’ and also appeared in the independent film ‘Peach Plum Pear.’
His career significantly advanced in October 2010 when he was cast in a recurring role as Caleb Rivers in the Freeform series ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ His performance led to him being promoted to a series regular for the third season, starting in the summer of 2012. During his time on ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ he also starred as Pete in the six-episode web series ‘Wendy’ in 2011, a project by Alloy Entertainment and Macy’s. In 2012, he acted in the drama ‘Hiding.’ A significant career turning point occurred in May 2013 when it was announced he would star in the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ spin-off, ‘Ravenswood,’ further establishing his presence in the young adult drama genre.
Blackburn’s career progression continued with a main role as Alex Manes in The CW series ‘Roswell, New Mexico,’ joining the cast in March 2018. He remained a series regular throughout the show’s four-season run until its conclusion in 2022. Beyond acting, Blackburn has a musical career, recording ‘Save Me’ for the ‘Wendy’ soundtrack in 2011 and ‘Find a Way’ in 2012, which was featured on ABC Family shows. He released an extended play, ‘Find My Way – EP,’ in 2013 and has collaborated on several songs with Novi, including ‘Can’t Love Me,’ which was featured in ‘Roswell, New Mexico.’ He publicly came out as bisexual in April 2019.
