This young violin wizard has more than meets the eye. Diagnosed with Leukemia is just four and a half, Butler-Figueroa has had an unthinkable childhood. Unfortunately, after his hair fell out Butler-Figueroa was bullied in school, but out of something dark came something truly spectacular. With the determination and strong-will of a superstar, Butler-Figueroa picked up a violin one day to re identify himself and it was all golden from then on – with a new lease of energy he took to AGT, and blew everyone away.
Butler-Figueroa melted the hearts of the judges, live audience and viewers at home. The 11 year old unfortunately did not win, where he was on the exciting brink of landing a record deal and an album advance of $100,000. Regardless of the victor or the album money, Butler-Figueroa won the competition in the eyes of many. Sheer determination in the face of horrific adversity, raw talent and a skillful performance, the 11 year old and his violin have a future ahead entangled in passion and persistence.
