Tyrese Haliburton

Tyrese John Haliburton was born on February 29, 2000, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He developed his basketball skills early, playing for Oshkosh North High School. During his junior season, he averaged 18 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, earning FVA Player of the Year. As a senior, Haliburton led his team to a state title, averaging 22.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game, and was named Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year. He then played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones where he set a program record for single-game assists as a freshman. His sophomore year saw him named to the All-Big 12 Conference second team despite a season-ending wrist injury.

Haliburton was selected 12th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2020 NBA draft. In his rookie year (2020-21), he earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors. In February 2022, he was traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he quickly became a central player. In the 2022-23 season, he received his first NBA All-Star selection. The 2023-24 season marked his first All-NBA selection, and he helped lead the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals. In the 2024-25 season, Haliburton made his first NBA Finals appearance with the Pacers, showcasing his clutch-play ability although the season ended with a torn Achilles tendon in Game 7.
