Vanessa Angel

Vanessa Angel, born in London, England, on November 10, 1966, began her career at the age of 14 when she was discovered by renowned agent Eileen Ford. This led to a successful modeling career, during which she traveled globally, appeared on numerous magazine covers including “Vogue” and “Cosmopolitan,” and relocated to New York City. Her transition to acting started in 1985 with a role as a Russian spy in the film “Spies Like Us,” directed by John Landis. To further her acting skills, she studied with Sondra Lee and became a member of The Actor’s Studio in New York in 1987, under the tutelage of Frank Corsaro.

Angel continued to build her acting portfolio with roles in films such as “King of New York” (1990), “Sleep with Me” (1994), and “Kingpin” (1996), from the Farrelly Brothers, where she starred alongside Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray. She also appeared in “Kissing a Fool” (1998) with David Schwimmer and Jason Lee. Her television career includes a prominent role in the series “Weird Science” (1994-1998) on the USA Network, where her portrayal of Lisa brought her considerable recognition. She also had recurring roles as police officer Peggy Elliot on NBC’s “Reasonable Doubts” (1991) and as Anise/Freya in three episodes of “Stargate SG-1” (2000).

In recent years, Angel has taken on diverse roles in both film and television. Her film credits include “The Perfect Score” (2004) with Scarlett Johansson, “Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2” (2004) opposite Jon Voight, and a reunion with the Farrelly Brothers in “Hall Pass” (2011). She also played herself in HBO’s “Entourage” (2005) and made a guest appearance in Showtime’s “Californication” (2012). Her recent projects include the films “Lycan” (2017) and “Trouble Sleeping” (2018), and ongoing work in various independent films and television series.
