Texas born singer songwriter David Ramirez is known for his Americana sound, and has recently released his sixth studio album.
Ramirez has been a big part of the folk and indie scene for more than 10 years, having self-released his debut album back in 2009. American Soil and Apologies were his first two records, both of which he put out independently before attracting the attention of Thirty Tigers who signed him and released his next three albums. He has become well known for his personal and emotional music, which draws inspiration from his Mexican heritage as well as his life experiences. His politically charged release We’re Not Going Anywhere proved he has depth and showed a different kind of sound to his fans, showing off his versatility and range. My Love is a Hurricane, Ramirez’s fifth studio album, is one of his most intimate, exploring his experiences of falling in and out of love and the unpredictable nature of relationships. The album was a commercial and critical success, racking up millions of streams on Spotify, with Ramirez touring extensively to support the release with dates across Europe and America.
Most recently, the prolific singer songwriter has released his sixth album, Backslider, his first release with record label Sweetworld. The album came out in 2021 and Ramirez now hopes to return to touring after some time away due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
