Vashti Cunningham is an accomplished American track and field athlete specializing in the high jump. She began her athletic journey at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she quickly made a name for herself. In April 2015, she set a national high school record by jumping 1.94 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays, a feat that also ranked her as the No. 4 world Youth mark at the time. Her remarkable performance earned her the title of USATF Athlete of the Week and laid the foundation for her future successes in the sport.
In March 2016, Cunningham achieved a significant milestone by winning the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a jump of 1.99 meters, establishing a new World Junior Record. This jump was the highest in the world for that year, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination. Just a week later, she continued her winning streak by claiming victory at the World Indoor Championship, further solidifying her status as a rising star in athletics.

Most recently, on July 7, 2023, Cunningham claimed her 13th U.S. high jump title at the U.S. outdoor track and field championships in Eugene, Oregon.
