Singer, songwriter and actor Kieran Alleyne rose to fame in the CBBC sitcom Dani’s Castle alongside Dani Harmer before joining X Factor band 5 After Midnight. The popular boyband made it to the semi-final of the talent show and scored a hit with 2017’s ‘Up In Here’ before Alleyne left to pursue his solo career. Specialising in Soul and R&B, the ‘Be Around’ singer has racked up millions of listens on Spotify, including 15 million alone for sultry banger ‘Running Low’.
Born April 11th 1995 in Leicester, UK, Alleyne first garnered attention as regularly cast member Jimmy (a signed musician with Artistry Ent and Virgin EMI) on CBBC’s Dani’s Castle, and previously played a young Michael Jackson in the hit West End show Thriller, a role he later reprised in Thriller Live. He was also a co-presenter on the popular CBBC show Friday Download and starred in TV movie Make Christmas Great Again (2017). In 2014 Alleyne dropped single ‘Runnin Low’, followed by ‘Be Around’ and EP Breaking Good a year later. Although the rising star was already making waves as both an actor and a musician, he decided to join X Factor boy-band 5 After Midnight (AKA 5AM), and the group earned praise from the judges as well as millions of fans watching at home.
Just 14 months after finding fame on The X Factor with 5 After Midnight, Alleyne announced via Instagram that he was splitting from the group to find success as a solo artist. With several hits already under his belt, the R&B singer continues to record new music and has a bright future ahead.
