Viktor Bankin

Viktor Viktorovych Bankin was born on August 24, 1990, in Kyiv, Ukraine. He began his journey in shooting at the age of 10, entering competitions two years later at 12. His early training took place at the Kyiv City School of Higher Sports Mastery. This foundational period established his skill set and prepared him for a competitive career in the sport.

Since 2009, Bankin has served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, holding the position of athlete-instructor at the Central Sports Club of the AFU, and is an active member of the Ukrainian army shooting team. In 2010, he contributed to setting a Ukrainian record among juniors in the 10-meter air pistol event, achieving a score of 1735 points. His career progressed with significant achievements, including becoming a three-time champion of the European Championship in 2014, 2018, and 2019. In 2022, he earned a bronze medal at the World Championships in the 50m pistol event. Bankin has also represented Ukraine in the European Games and is a member of the Ukrainian Shooting Federation and the National Shot Shooting Team of Ukraine.

Over his career, Bankin has consistently ranked among the top athletes in various events. His participation in multiple World Cup and ISSF Grand Prix events has yielded several top-10 finishes, demonstrating his sustained performance at an international level. Notably, he achieved an 11th place finish in the 10m Air Pistol Men at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024 and was ranked 13th in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team at the same event. He is recognized for his contributions to the development of youth in Ukraine through his achievements, receiving the Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2015.
