Vir Das, an Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, and musician, received the International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series for his Netflix special, Vir Das: Landing, in 2023, solidifying his international standing. Beginning his professional comedy career in India in April 2003, Das quickly became a prolific performer, delivering over 100 comedy shows across major Indian cities. He debuted six stand-up specials during this period, including ‘Brown Men Can’t Hump,’ ‘Not for Members Only,’ and ‘VIRagra’. Das simultaneously developed a television career, hosting shows on Indian channels such as ‘Zoom’ for ‘Is Route Ki Sabhin Linein Maast Hain’, his own late-night stand-up program ‘Ek Rahin Vir’, and ‘Top Drive – Getaway’ for ‘Star World’.
His acting portfolio grew with roles in Bollywood films, notably Vipul Shah’s 2007 movie ‘Namastey London’, followed by significant parts in ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Badmaash Company’, and ‘Go Goa Gone’.
