Nyles Morgan

Nyles Morgan has established himself as a prominent linebacker in the CFL, known for his defensive prowess and leadership. After earning first-team USA Today All-American honors in 2013, Nyles Morgan continued to distinguish himself throughout his collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame from 2014 to 2017. During high school, he recorded 107 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 2012, followed by 115 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception returned for a touchdown in 2013. At Notre Dame, Morgan was recognized as a Freshman All-American in 2014, accumulating 47 tackles and one pass breakup in 12 games.

He was further honored as Notre Dame Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2016 and became a team captain in 2017, playing 12 games with 91 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Morgan transitioned to professional football in 2018, initially signing with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent, followed by a stint with the Tennessee Titans. In 2019, he joined the Arizona Hotshots in the Alliance of Football (AAF), where he tallied 58 tackles and one forced fumble across eight games. He then played five games for the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL in 2020, recording 18 tackles and half a sack.

Nyles Morgan’s impact reached new heights in 2024, where he tied for the CFL lead in defensive tackles with an outstanding 111. This remarkable achievement also marked the sixth most defensive tackles in a single season in Elks history, underscoring his significant contributions to the team’s defense and his sustained excellence within the league. His consistent ability to lead the Elks in tackles and rank among the CFL’s top defenders reinforces his status as a formidable and highly sought-after talent.
