Nyles Morgan

Nyles Morgan, born on August 16, 1996, in Chicago, IL, began his football journey at Crete-Monee High School in Crete, Illinois. During his high school career, he demonstrated exceptional talent, recording 107 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 2012. In 2013, he further distinguished himself with 115 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception returned for a touchdown, earning first-team USA Today All-American honors. His collegiate career continued at the University of Notre Dame from 2014 to 2017, where he was recognized as Freshman All-American in 2014 after accumulating 47 tackles and one pass breakup in 12 games. He became a team captain in 2017, playing in 12 games and recording 91 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Morgan transitioned to professional football, signing with the Chicago Bears in 2018 as an undrafted free agent, followed by a stint with the Tennessee Titans. In 2019, he played for the Arizona Hotshots in the Alliance of Football (AAF), totaling 58 tackles and one forced fumble in eight games. He then played five games for the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL in 2020, where he recorded 18 tackles and half a sack. His career then led him to the Canadian Football League (CFL), signing with the Edmonton Elks on July 1, 2021.

Since joining the Elks, Morgan has shown consistent performance and leadership. In his first season in 2021, he recorded 66 defensive tackles, 6 special teams tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble in 13 games, earning him the Elks’ nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie. He continued to be a key player, leading the Elks in tackles with 107 in 2023, and tying for the CFL lead in defensive tackles with 111 in 2024. His 111 defensive tackles in 2024 are the sixth most in a single season in Elks history, highlighting his impact on the team’s defense.
