About

Ray Anthony Fry, widely known by his stage name Widow Von’Du, was born on April 17, 1989, in Kansas City, Missouri. Before entering the world of drag, Fry engaged in Capoeira for six years, developing a foundation in performance and movement. Early in his career, Fry achieved local recognition, earning the title of Queen of KC at Kansas City Pridefest and Princess of Gay Pride in 2008. These early accomplishments provided a platform for his artistic development within the drag community.

His career saw a significant turning point with his involvement in the drag competition circuit. After an initial audition for season 11 of *RuPaul’s Drag Race*, he was announced as a cast member for the twelfth season of the show on January 23, 2020. This appearance brought him national and international exposure. Following his time on *RuPaul’s Drag Race*, Widow Von’Du released an album in October 2020, further expanding his artistic output beyond live performance.

In September 2020, Fry joined other Black *RuPaul’s Drag Race* alumni in a “Stop the Racism” public service announcement. This initiative addressed issues of racism within the *Drag Race* fanbase, demonstrating his commitment to social advocacy and using his public platform to highlight important community concerns.
