Will Smith first achieved national recognition as a Grammy Award-winning rapper, earning the inaugural Grammy Award in the Rap category in 1988 for ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ with his hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The duo released their debut album ‘Rock the House’ in 1987. Smith then transitioned to acting, starring in the NBC television series ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ from 1990 to 1996, a career-defining role that garnered widespread popularity. His film career debut followed with an appearance in ‘Where the Day Takes You’ in 1992.

Smith rapidly became a prominent box office draw, starring in commercially successful films like Bad Boys (1995), Independence Day (1996), and Men in Black (1997). Concurrently, he launched a solo music career, releasing his debut album Big Willie Style in 1997, which included hit singles.
