The fantastic sportsman Xander Schauffele is a professional golfer, who is best known for winning Gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He was also part of the victorious US Team at the 2021 Ryder Cup, and at the Presidents Cup in 2019 and 2022. In 2017 he became the first rookie in history to win the PGA Tour Championship and was voted Rookie of the Year by his peers.
Born and raised in California, Schauffele started playing golf when he was ten-years-old, going on to win the 2011 California State High School Championship and the 2014 California State Amateur Championship. He played collegiate golf at Long Beach State University where he was named Big West Conference Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big West in 2012 before transferring to San Diego State University. He was ranked in the Top 10 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Schauffele turned professional in 2015, and continued to build up his reputation on the Green across the globe. He was named Rookie of the Year on the PGA Tour 2016-17, and went on to compete at The Open Championship in 2018 where he tied for 2nd. In 2019 he tied for 2nd at the Masters Tournament and tied 3rd at the US Open. After taking part in the PGA Championship in 2020, he represented the United States at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he won Gold. Later that same year he was part of the victorious US Team at the Ryder Cup. He was also part of the US national team who won the Presidents Cup in 2019 and 2022.
