Xavi Simons

Xavi Quentin Shay Simons was born on April 21, 2003, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. At the age of three, he moved to a village near Alicante, Spain, where he began his football journey at Club Deportivo Tháder. His exceptional talent quickly became evident, leading him to join FC Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia youth setup in 2010. Simons developed rapidly within Barcelona’s system, gaining recognition as a prodigy. After nearly a decade at Barcelona, he transitioned to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in July 2019, where he signed a three-year contract. He made his professional debut for PSG in 2021, marking the beginning of his senior club career.

Simons continued his career progression, winning a Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France with PSG. In 2022, he moved to PSV Eindhoven in his native Netherlands, where he quickly became a key player. During his single season with PSV, he achieved significant success, winning the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield. He also earned the Eredivisie top scorer award, showcasing his offensive capabilities. His strong performances led to a return to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, where he was immediately loaned to RB Leipzig in Germany. With RB Leipzig, he continued to demonstrate his skill in the Bundesliga and Champions League, before making the move permanent in January 2025.

In August 2025, Simons joined Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, signing a five-year contract. He made an immediate impact, assisting a goal on his debut. On the international stage, Simons has represented the Netherlands at various youth levels before making his senior national team debut at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He has since become a regular for the national team, contributing to their UEFA Euro 2024 campaign and scoring his first senior international goals.
