Yogi Ferrell

Kevin Duane “Yogi” Ferrell Jr. was born on May 9, 1993, in Indianapolis, Indiana. His basketball journey began early, featuring in national youth rankings at just 10 years old. He attended Park Tudor School, where he achieved significant success, leading his high school team to two IHSAA Class 2A State Championships. Ferrell was highly rated upon graduation, recognized as a top-tier point guard and an ESPN100 prospect. He participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2012, showcasing his skills with a game-high eight assists and no turnovers.

Ferrell committed to play college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers, where he built a record-breaking career from 2012 to 2016. He became the first player in Indiana University history to lead the team in assists for four consecutive years and set the school’s all-time assists record with 633. He also holds the record for career games played and started (137) for the Hoosiers. His consistent performance earned him multiple accolades, including Second-team All-American honors in 2016 and First-team All-Big Ten selections in 2015 and 2016.

After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, Ferrell began his professional career. He played for several NBA teams, including the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Clippers, across six seasons. His career highlights include being named Western Conference Rookie of the Month in February 2017 and earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2017 while with the Dallas Mavericks. Transitioning to international play, Ferrell has competed in the EuroLeague and ABA League, winning two Slovenian League championships and two Slovenian Cups with Cedevita Olimpija in 2022 and 2023, where he was also named the Slovenian Basketball League Finals MVP in 2023.
