Youth Soul Love

Hip Hop Soul artist Youth Soul Love has risen to prominence thanks to his effortless blend of high energy sounds and relatable lyrics. Since exploding onto the music industry in 2012, Soul has written and co-produced all of his own tracks and has produced and directed all of his visual content. In 2018 the multi-talented artist teased listeners with three tracks from his EP This is Not A Love Story and quickly amassed more than 10 million plays on SoundCloud alone.

Born Stetson Leon Rhodes in Houston, Texas, Soul moved around a lot with his family, from Greenspoint to Cypress, to Clear Lake and Alief, but music was the one constant in the young musician’s life. He grew up listening to Earth Wind & Fire, and missed his senior prom to watch Kanye West on his 2008 Glow in The Dark Tour – a concert which inspired Soul to become a music artist.
Soul doesn’t have a simple answer when asked what genre his music fits into – he doesn’t consider himself a rapper and also doesn’t want to simply label himself as an R&B singer. He does however consider himself as a “conscious Rapper” whose music reflects the current landscape – politically, socially, culturally and economically.

As an artist he has become renowned for his electrifying live performances, and has toured with the likes of Joyner Lucas as well as performing at numerous festivals including Essence Fest and for New York’s BET Matters during 2016. Combining music, high quality visuals and fashion, YSL aims to immerse his fans in a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
