Yuko Oshima

Yuko Oshima is a revered Japanese actress and former member of the iconic idol girl group AKB48, where she captivated audiences with her talent and charisma. Born on October 17, 1988, in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, Oshima’s journey in the entertainment industry began at a young age when she signed as a child actor with Central Kodomo Gekidan in 1996.

In 2005, Oshima ventured into the world of junior idols as part of the idol project Doll’s Vox, under the guidance of The Alfee vocalist Toshihiko Takamizawa. However, it was in 2006 that her destiny took a pivotal turn when she was selected from over 12,000 applicants to join AKB48’s Team K. With her debut in April 2006, Oshima quickly became a prominent figure in the group, contributing to numerous hit singles including “Aitakatta.”

Her talent and popularity within AKB48 led to significant achievements, including being appointed as the captain of Team K in 2012. Oshima’s influence extended beyond the stage, as evidenced by her consistent top placements in the annual AKB48 general elections, where she ranked among the top two from 2009 to 2013.

In July 2021, Oshima embarked on a new chapter in her personal life, marrying actor Kento Hayashi, with whom she welcomed their first child in January 2023.
