During his tenure at Ferris State, Hankins consistently demonstrated his dominance, leading the nation in blocked shots in multiple seasons, including 130 blocks in 2016-17 and 128 blocks in 2017-18. He was a two-time GLIAC Player of the Year, securing GLIAC regular-season and tournament titles, and was recognized on the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association All-America Second Team. His senior collegiate season (2017-18) saw him average 15.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game, with a 63% field goal percentage. Following his decorated career at Ferris State, Hankins transferred to Xavier University as a graduate student for the 2018-19 season, where he continued to set new benchmarks.
He led the BIG EAST Conference in field goal percentage at 68.6%, establishing a new single-season school record for Xavier. He also ranked second in the BIG EAST for blocked shots, tallying 54 blocks (1.5 bpg). During his season at Xavier, Hankins averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, starting 22 of the team’s final 23 contests, and scored a career-high 23 points with 10 rebounds against Georgetown in 2019. After going undrafted in 2019, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Summer League before commencing his professional career with ?EZ Nymburk in the Czech Republic, where he earned a spot on the Basketball Champions League Team of the Week in 2020.
He also earned recognition on the All-Champions League First Team, solidifying his status as a premier international talent. He signed with U-BT Cluj-Napoca of the Liga Na?ional? de Baschet Masculin in 2024. Currently, Hankins demonstrates his elite skill as a formidable center for Coviran Granada in the Liga ACB, having signed with the Spanish club in 2025, where he continues to make a significant impact at the highest level of European professional basketball.
