Zander Bleck

Zander Bleck began his career in New York City, initially modeling before pursuing his lifelong passion for music. He first gained recognition as part of the band Monument. Following this, he secured a record deal with Interscope Records and toured with Lady Gaga. During this period, Bleck focused on rock music, inspired by bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin, attempting to reinvent the genre, although he noted that the audience for this specific direction was not as robust as he had hoped. This experience prompted Bleck to consider a different musical path.

In response to this, Bleck decided to pivot his career, leading to the formation of Mojave Grey during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new venture saw him collaborating with longtime musical partner and producer Matthew Chiarelli, with whom he previously had success on the 2018 single “Mercy Me,” and artist Michael Pozzi. Mojave Grey aims to combine classic rock influences with modern electronic elements, drawing inspiration from groups like RÜFÜS DU SOL and Bob Moses. The duo’s base in Los Angeles and Joshua Tree has influenced their sound, incorporating desert vibes and natural elements into their compositions and visuals.

The transition to Mojave Grey marked a significant turning point for Bleck, shifting from a band-oriented rock sound to a more programmed, dance-focused electronic style. This change, which he describes as an “evolution of rock music,” involved a period of intensive songwriting and experimentation before they began performing live. Mojave Grey has since focused on an aggressive release schedule, short film visuals, and immersive performances, with plans for a debut album and global tours, including upcoming appearances in New York for Fashion Week and continued monthly single releases.
