Artists and tracks from three of MN2S Label Services’ top label clients have dominated the Beatport Top 100 year-end charts.
Traxsource Top 100 Albums of 2021: #1
Released on February 12th, DJ Spen’s 12-track LP Soulful Storm took the top spot in Beatport’s Top 100 Albums list. This is the US house icon’s second full-length project to date, following 2014’s Transitions. Both records have been released via his own label, Quantize Recordings. Soulful Storm features vocal cameos from Crystal Waters, Tasha LaRae, Carla Prather, Michelle John and co-production from David Morales. Speaking about the album release, Spen commented: “Several of the songs were made during the pandemic, and I think many people will relate to the messages of love, frustration, resilience, and even fun. I truly hope that this collection of songs will move your soul.” The album also featured DJ Spen’s Crystal Waters collaboration “Party People”, previously released as a single.

Traxsource Top 100 Soulful House Artists of 2021: #1
Confirming his status as the king of soulful house, DJ Spen was voted as Traxsource’s No. 1 artist working in the genre for the second year in a row. Beatport recognised Spen for “effortlessly cultivating a sense of deep-rooted soul within his music” and praised him for landing an incredible 24 tracks in their roundup of the Top 200 Soulful House Tracks of 2021.

Traxsource Top 100 Compilations of 2021: #5
Another gem in DJ Spen’s crown, the Quantize Miami Sampler came in at No. 5 on Beatport’s roundup of the Top 100 Compilations. Featuring a stunning selection of tracks from Spen’s label Quantize Recordings, the compilation featured cuts from DJ Fella, Reelsoul, Micfreak and Ron Hall.

Traxsource Top 200 Nu-Disco of 2021: #2
Coming in at just under the top spot on Traxsource’s Top 200 Nu-Disco tracks is Waiting On A Love from FUNKYBEAT feat. Angela Johnson. This blissful nu-disco cut was released on Sunflowermusic Records, an MN2S Label Services client recently profiled in our Label Spotlight feature.

Traxsource Top Nu Disco Artists of 2021: #6
Titan of nu-disco, head of Tropical Disco Records and close friend of MN2S Moodena returned to the Top 10 Nu-Disco artists this year after taking the No. 1 spot in 2020. Traxsource praised his work across multiple influential labels within the scene, commenting that “we can safely say that he is truly a key player in the Nu Disco world and will be for years to come.”
