Dyo nominated for Ivor Novello Award | News | MN2S

Up and coming singer-songwriter Dyo has been nominated for the Best Contemporary Song award at The Ivors 2017.

Dyo shot to stardom last year with the massive hit ‘Sexual’ by NEIKID feat. Dyo. Now the song has been nominated for Best Contemporary Song at this year’s Ivor Novello awards.

The song was written by Dyo, NEIKID and Elina Stridh, all of whom will receive the award should ‘Sexual’ win on the night.

‘Sexual’ faces tough competition in the Best Contemporary Song category this year. Also nominated is Skepta’s ‘Man’ from his blockbuster album Konnichiwa, and Mura Masa’s ‘Love$ick’ featuring A$AP Rocky.

‘Sexual’ has a good shot at winning though. Since its release, the song has racked up over 2.5 million YouTube plays and become a staple of pop radio. Dyo memorably performed the song for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge with a stripped-down accompaniment and toned-down lyrics (the song was retitled ‘Sensual’).

This year will mark the 62nd Ivor Novello Awards, and the ceremony will take place on May 18th 2017. Other artists nominated include Adele, Coldplay, Laura Mvula, Nick Cave and Michael Kiwanuka.

Book Dyo now to bring the ‘Sexual’ songwriter to your venue.
