Club MTV

Club MTV, initially known as MTV Dance, launched on April 20, 2001, as a British electronic dance music channel under ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia. It began as a nocturnal programming block on the digital music channel MTV Extra, broadcasting from 7 PM until the following morning. Following this successful format, the channel expanded into a standalone music channel for the United Kingdom and Ireland on September 3, 2001. In its early years, MTV Dance time-shared broadcast hours with the Nick Jr.

This revival underscored the channel’s enduring appeal and commitment to electronic dance music programming for its audience. This latest iteration of Club MTV in the UK, while scheduled to cease operations again on December 31, 2025, reflects the channel’s unique history of discontinuation and revival.
