Sofia Kourtesis

Sofia Kourtesis, born on August 18, 1985, in Magdalena, Lima, Peru, is a DJ and music producer based in Berlin, Germany. She began her recording career with the release of her debut EP, ‘This Is It,’ in 2014. This initial release set the foundation for her distinctive electronic music style.

Her career continued with the release of a self-titled second EP in 2019, followed by the ‘Sarita Colonia’ EP in 2020. In 2021, Kourtesis released the five-song EP, ‘Fresia Magdalena,’ which garnered further attention. A significant milestone in her career was the release of her debut album, ‘Madres,’ in October 2023 through the Ninja Tune label. This album featured collaborations such as “Estación Esperanza” with Manu Chao and the single “Madres.” She released her fifth EP, ‘Volver,’ on August 1, 2025, which includes the singles “Unidos” (with Daphni) and “Canela Pura.” Her work frequently appears on various ‘End of Year’ lists in music publications, and she has been featured on the cover of Mixmag and presented an ‘RA Session’ for Resident Advisor. Her performances include major festivals such as Glastonbury in 2022 and The Warehouse Project in Manchester in October 2025.
