Tony Fresch’s musical journey began early, influenced by metal and hip-hop before exploring electronic music through competitive Dance Dance Revolution. His initial foray into production started in 2002 using GarageBand, later transitioning to Logic from 2008 to 2011, and then to Ableton in 2011. This period laid the groundwork for his eventual career as Dr. Fresch. He launched his electro-inspired label Prep School in 2012, releasing remixes on Dim Mak Records and Big Mamas House Records. A pivotal moment came in 2013 when he won Insomniac’s Discovery Project competition, which significantly propelled his career. Following this, his debut self-titled EP and hip-hop/rap remixes gained attention in the blogosphere, leading to a #9 ranking on Billboard Magazine’s “Next Big Sound” Chart. His style evolved to incorporate G-house, a genre he helped redefine, blending house, hip-hop, and midtempo elements.

Dr. Fresch continued to build his brand through various projects and releases. In 2015, he launched his semi-monthly mix series “House Call,” which has accumulated tens of millions of plays and is featured on Sirius XM. A notable achievement in 2016 was his collaboration with Baby Eazy-E, “Gangsta Gangsta,” which achieved virality online and charted in the UK Club Charts. This track set a precedent for his future releases across labels such as OWSLA, Insomniac Records, Atlantic, and Ministry of Sound. His career progression includes consistent appearances at major festivals, including EDC Las Vegas, Paradiso, Moonrise, Electric Forest, CRSSD, Splash House, Osheaga, and Shambhala. In 2018, he released “Revelation” with Bijou and Denzel Curry on Insomniac Records, followed by his sophomore EP in July of the same year, featuring the track “Fire,” which gained millions of online plays and became a fixture in festival and club circuits.

The year 2019 marked the launch of his new record label, Prescription Records, in partnership with Insomniac Music Group, which debuted a compilation featuring over ten artists. He also released a G-House collaboration EP with Bijou and an official remix for Rico Nasty. In 2020, he released a 21-track compilation album, “The Remedy Volume 2,” showcasing 23 other prominent house artists. This was quickly followed by his second EP, “It Don’t Stop,” which featured a collaboration with hip-hop artist Andre Nickatina. He later established House Call Records, which further solidified his role within the electronic music scene. Tony Fresch’s work demonstrates a continuous commitment to developing his unique sound and supporting other artists through his labels.
