Purity Ring

Purity Ring, the Canadian electronic pop duo, has continuously evolved their distinct sound from early experimental electronic productions to critically acclaimed album releases and significant collaborations. After releasing their inaugural track ‘Ungirthed’ in January 2011, electronic pop duo Purity Ring, comprising multi-instrumentalist and producer Corin Roddick and vocalist and lyricist Megan James, quickly gained industry recognition. This initial venture, blending electronic elements with James’ distinctive vocal delivery, led to their signing with 4AD worldwide and Last Gang Records in Canada in April 2012. Their debut album, Shrines, released in July 2012, garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, peaking at number 32 on the Billboard 200 and selling 90,000 copies in the US by February 2015.

Looking ahead, Purity Ring is set to release a self-titled album in September 2025, which draws inspiration from video games like Final Fantasy X and NieR: Automata to create an immersive, role-playing game-like musical experience. Ahead of the album, they released new singles ‘Many Lives’, ‘Part II’, and ‘Place of My Own’ in 2025. This highly anticipated release will be supported by a headlining North American tour in autumn 2025, underscoring their continuous innovation and exploration within the electronic music genre.
