Joshua Mellody, known as Zomboy, is an English DJ and producer who has achieved international recognition in dubstep music. After his successful entry into electronic music with studies at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Zomboy (Joshua Mellody) made a significant impact on the dubstep scene in 2011 with the release of his debut EP, Game Time, via Never Say Die Records. The EP quickly became a chart success, securing a spot in the top 5 on the Beatport dubstep charts for over eight consecutive weeks. This early recognition led to his music and remixes being licensed for high-profile compilations by major labels including Warner and Ministry of Sound.
The Outbreak achieved widespread commercial success, reaching number one on the iTunes Electronic Chart in 10 countries, including the USA, Canada, Italy, and Germany, and peaked at number 9 on Billboards Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. His influence further solidified with a 2016 remix of The Chainsmokers ft. Dayas Dont Let Me Down, which amassed over 23 million combined streams, and his track Like A Btch from the 2018 Neon Grave EP, accumulating over 28 million streams. From 2017 to 2019, Zomboy significantly developed his ‘Rott N’ Roll’ brand, encompassing a two-part Extended Player, a dedicated radio show, and an extensive corresponding tour.
Looking ahead, Zomboy is set to release Dead Man Walking, Pt. 2 in 2024, continuing to build on his distinct sound and narrative. He consistently utilizes platforms such as SoundCloud for creative experimentation, discovering new music, and fostering direct engagement with his global fanbase, further cementing his reputation as a pioneering and evolving force in dubstep.
