Timmy Regisford is an American DJ and music producer whose talent, dedication, and passion for house music have made him one of the most influential figures in the dance scene. Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Timmy started spinning records in the early 1980s, inspired by the likes of Larry Levan and David Morales.
Timmy’s career took off in the mid-1980s, when he became the resident DJ at the legendary New York club The Loft, founded by David Mancuso. He quickly gained a following for his unique blend of soulful, Afro-centric, and deep house sounds, and his ability to create a spiritual and transformative experience on the dance floor.
In 1996, Timmy founded his own record label, Shelter Records, which became a platform for the best house music producers and singers of the time. Some of the most notable Shelter releases include “Love Is The Message” by Kenny Bobien, “Brighter Days” by Cajmere feat. Dajae, and “Dancing In Outer Space” by Atmosfear.
Outside the studio, Timmy has also made a name for himself as a remixer, having put his touch on tracks by artists such as Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, and Mary J. Blige. He has also served as a music consultant for HBO’s hit series “The Sopranos”, and has been a featured artist on BBC Radio 1’s “Essential Mix”.
