Anggi Marito

Anggi Marito Tiodora Simanjuntak, born on March 6, 2002, in Tarutung, North Sumatra, Indonesia, developed an early interest in music. Her parents’ work led her to grow up in Batam, Riau Islands. Her musical journey began in elementary school with piano lessons, and her interest in singing grew from observing her mother’s church choir practices. She started training her vocal talents at church and subsequently participated in various singing competitions from junior high school onwards. Before her professional singing career, Anggi performed as an orchestra singer, which further honed her skills.

Anggi’s career began with participation in national competitions such as Kirana Semen Indonesia in 2014 and Izzi Video Music Star 3 in 2016, where she emerged as a co-winner. In 2017, she secured third place in Bintang Panggung Asik. Her competitive trajectory continued with a national championship in the FLS2N for female solo vocals in 2018. She then competed in The Voice Indonesia season three in 2018-2019, joining Titi DJ’s team and later Armand Maulana’s. Her breakthrough came with Indonesian Idol season eleven in 2020-2021, where she received the first golden ticket and reached the top three.

Following Indonesian Idol, Anggi signed with Universal Music Indonesia. She released her debut single, “Cara Mencintaimu,” in November 2021. Her second single, “Tak Segampang Itu,” released in December 2022, achieved significant success, topping digital music charts in Indonesia and Malaysia, including a nine-week run on Billboard’s Indonesia Songs chart. This success led to her selection for Spotify’s Radar program in 2023. She has since released more singles, including collaborations with Mario G. Klau and Ernie Zakri, and welcomed her first child in July 2024. She was recognized as the Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2023 Indonesian Music Awards.
