Anthem Lights is an American Christian vocal quartet that originated in Nashville, Tennessee, and has been captivating audiences since their formation in 2007. Initially starting as a solo project for vocalist Chad Graham, the group evolved when Graham and fellow musician Alan Powell recognized the potential for collaboration. They reached out to their contacts at Liberty University, leading to the recruitment of members Caleb Grimm and Kyle Kupecky, ultimately solidifying the group’s lineup. Initially named Yellow Cavalier, they released their first EP in 2009 before rebranding as Anthem Lights.
The group’s breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled debut album on May 10, 2011, under Reunion Records. This album featured the hit single “Can’t Shut Up,” which achieved notable success, peaking at No. 42 on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart. Their music, characterized by uplifting themes and harmonious vocals, resonated with fans, leading to five additional full-length albums over the years, showcasing their growth and versatility as artists.
Anthem Lights has also made a significant impact through live performances, participating in tours such as the Listen to the Sound Tour and the Rock & Worship Roadshow. Their engaging stage presence and heartfelt performances have garnered them a loyal fanbase, further solidifying their reputation in the Christian music scene. The group has seen lineup changes, including the departure of original members, but has continued to thrive with new additions like Joey Stamper.
In recent years, Anthem Lights has released several albums, including “Hymns” and “Painted Skies,” demonstrating their commitment to creating meaningful music. Their compilation album, “Better Together: The Mixtape,” showcases the individual talents of each member, while their continued evolution as a group reflects their dedication to their craft and their mission to spread positivity and hope through their music.
