One of the most successful pop acts of the last thirty years, Boyzone are the iconic boy band that defined the sound of the ‘90s. Thanks to their boyish charm and heartfelt song-writing, the group stole the hearts of thousands across the U.K., where they had sixteen singles in the top five, and six number ones. Songs like ‘Baby Can I Hold You’, ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’, and ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ became massive radio hits, making a permanent mark on the UK pop music scene.
Composed of five Irish vocalists and put together by music manager Louis Walsh, the group arrived in the late ‘90s. Mikey Graham, Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy, and lead vocalist Ronan Keating first developed their sound by covering ‘70s pop tunes, but soon began writing their own material, alongside Ray Hedges from Take That. Their debut outing, Said and Done, topped the albums chart and went triple platinum in the U.K., producing five highly-charting singles. The two albums that followed placed them earned them devoted fanbases across Europe and the wider world, selling millions of copies at home and abroad.
Since the turn of the millennium, Boyzone have taken several breaks from recording and performing, while some members have pursued solo careers. 2018 has seen them reform for the release of their final studio album, ‘Thank You & Goodnight’, which will accompany a farewell tour, taking place across the U.K. and Ireland in early 2019.
