About

Christian Kane, born in Dallas, Texas on June 27, 1972, spent his early life moving across the South with his family, eventually settling in Norman, Oklahoma. Before pursuing acting, he attended the University of Oklahoma with intentions of studying Art History. Kane made the decision to move to Hollywood with a limited amount of savings to begin an acting career. He initially took on various jobs, including working as a mail-room clerk for a talent agency. His acting career began in 1997 with a lead role in the series “Fame L.A.” as Ryan “Flyboy” Legget. This was followed by a role as Wick Lobo in “Rescue 77” in 1999. In the same year, he gained recognition for his recurring role as Lindsey McDonald in the Horror/Fantasy series “Angel.” He also had a production assistant credit in the film “Edtv” and appeared in the made-for-TV Western “Crossfire Trail” with Tom Selleck.

Kane’s career progressed with significant roles in television and film. From 2005 to 2007, he was part of the CBS series “Close to Home” and appeared in the Stephen Spielberg/TNT miniseries “Into the West.” His film credits include “Life or Something Like It” (2002), playing a young Robert Duvall in “Secondhand Lions” (2003), “Just Married” (2003) alongside Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy, and “Friday Night Lights” (2006). A notable period of his career was his role as Eliot Spencer in the TNT series “Leverage” from 2008 to 2012, a character he reprised in “Leverage: Redemption” (2021-2025) for IMDB TV. Earlier, in 2014, he starred in “50 to 1” and also took on the role of Jake Stone in “The Librarians” (2014-2018) on TNT, earning a nomination for Best Supporting Actor on Television with the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. He frequently performs his own stunts, demonstrating a hands-on approach to his action roles.

Beyond acting, Christian Kane has a music career as the lead singer of the country-southern rock band Kane. The band released their album “The House Rules” in 2010, which reached No. 25 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers album chart. The album’s single, “The House Rules,” debuted at No. 54 on the Billboard Country Songs chart, with its music video directed by Timothy Hutton. His other musical contributions include performing and writing songs for various film and television projects, such as “L.A. Song” for “Angel” and “More Than I Deserve” for “Leverage.” Christian Kane continues to pursue both acting and music, with recent projects including starring as Alex Walker in “Almost Paradise” (2020-2023) and appearing in “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” (2025).
